SPRINGFIELD, IL. (THECOUNT) — Jovan Torbert has been identified as the suspect taken into custody over the July murder of Springfield woman Shanay Moore.

Moore, 29, was found murdered on July 4th inside a residence on Bryant Lane, in Springfield, Illinois.

Springfield police confirm that 34-year-old Torbert was taken into custody in Lake County, Indiana, reports NewsChannel20.

Torbert was charged with three counts of first-degree murder and one count of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.

A motive in the killing was not provided by officials.
