STAFFORD COUNTY, VA. (THECOUNT) — Michael Shane Nelson, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, has been identified as the victim in a fatal shooting in Fredericksburg, VA Saturday night.
Nelson, 41, was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the head after police arrived to a Fredericksburg residence on a 911 assistance call.

Stafford County police arrived to a residence on New Hope Church Road and discovered Nelson and an unidentified woman both suffering from a gunshot wound to the head around 6 p.m. Saturday.
The woman, whose identity was not disclosed, is recovering at a nearby hospital, reports Foc5DC. Her current condition was not provided by officials.
Nelson was pronounced dead at the scene of gunshot injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
