WINSTON-SALEM, NC. (THECOUNT) — Jalen Chavon Cockerham has been identified as the victim in a Saturday night Winston-Salem shooting that also injured 5 individuals.

Cockerham, 23, was killed and five others were hurt after a shooting around 11 p.m. in Winston-Salem late Saturday, according to police.

Police responded to cals of shots fired at a home located at 4252 Cody Drive, near North Hills Elementary School.

Upon arrival, police found multiple suffering from gunshot injuries.

Cockerham was pronounced dead at the scene of gunshot wounds.

Of the five other victims, four were treated for non-life-threatening injuries and one remains in critical condition, according to MyFox8.

The injured victims were not identified.
