WINDHAM COUNTY, CT. (THECOUNT) — Stephen Wild, of Massachusetts, has been identified as the victim in a fatal wrong-way driver crash on I-395 north in Plainfield Friday morning.
The crash occurred during the early morning hours of Friday on Interstate 395, between Exits 32 and 35.
CT State Police said, Wild, 54, was operating a vehicle around 1:45 a.m traveling south on the northbound side of the highway early Friday morning, when for unknown reasons, collided head-on with another vehicle, which was traveling in the opposite direction.
Wild was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
The driver and passenger in the other vehicle, who were not identified, were transported to an area hospital for treatment of unknown injuries believed to not be life threatening.
The investigation is ongoing.
