SANTA ANA, CA. (THECOUNT) — Severe turbulence made for, at the very least, a nail biting Compass Airlines flight that departed from John Wayne Airport headed for Seattle Wednesday.
Compass Airlines Flight 5763 was forced to land in Reno after experiencing severe turbulence Wednesday. The rocking and rolling caused multiple injuries, KABC is reporting.
A video of the aftermath showed passenger belongings tossed around the cabin while a large drink cart could be seen wedged in the aisle betweens a row of seats.
The plane performed a heart stopping nose-dived twice during the flight, according to a passenger.
“Crazy turbulence and injuries, but the Delta crew handled it perfectly, even the emergency landing,” the passenger tweeted.
Compass is a regional airline that operates flights on behalf of Delta and American Airlines.
Three people were reportedly sent to the hospital with injuries.
Passengers were expected to be loaded into another aircraft to continue their trip to Seattle.
