COFFEE COUNTY, GA. (THECOUNT) — John Pond has been identified as the victim killed in a hit-and-run in Douglas, Georgia on Friday.
Dustin Jordan (pictured) was taken in custody is facing charges following the fatal collision in Coffee County Friday morning.
Pond, 27, was killed on Willacoochee Highway, near the Douglas city limits, officials said Friday.
Georgia State Patrol (GSP) said that there was a hit and run involving a pedestrian.
Troopers said Jordan, 21, of Douglas, was taken into custody around 2:30 p.m. Friday.
Officials said they were looking for a gray Chevy four door truck. The vehicle of interest was captured through surveillance video, according to GSP.
Authorities said Jordan is charged with vehicular homicide in the first degree and leaving the scene of an accident, according to WALB.
