BURKE COUNTY, GA. (THECOUNT) — William Procter has been identified as the Burke County Road & Bridges Department employee killed following a Wednesday morning crash in Burke County.
Procter, whose age was not provided, was operating a Burke County Road & Bridges work truck when he was struck while attempting to perform a left hand turn on to Brown-Mobley Road from Highway 24 South, in Sardis, GA, around 7:40 a.m. Wednesday.
A passenger in the truck with Proctor was treated for non-life threatening injuries, reports WRDW.
Procter was to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
The driver of the second vehicle involved, and a child passenger were not injured in the crash.
Georgia State Patrol said the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
