SFSU Student Angelina Pinedo ID’d As Pedestrian Fatally Struck In Sunday Night Redondo Hit-And-Run

REDONDO BEACH, CA. (THECOUNT) — Angelina Pinedo has been identified as the pedestrian struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver while crossing a Redondo Beach, California, street Sunday night.

Authorities say they are seeking the driver of the SUV that fatally struck the 21-year-old San Francisco State University student in Redondo Beach on Sunday.

Pinedo was crossing the street with her sister just after 9 p.m. near the intersection of Aviation Boulevard and Grant Avenue when she was struck by a black Audi SUV, Redondo Beach, reports FOXLA.

The sisters were in the crosswalk at the time of the incident. The driver of the SUV did not stop, according to authorities.

Pinedo was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

Pinedo was reportedly in town visiting family. She was the youngest of six siblings. Family described her as a “gentle soul.”

“Our family has suffered a tremendous loss. Our lives are forever changed,” Matha Torres, Pinedo’s sister, told FOX11.

The vehicle was described as a black Audi Q5 with front end damage and has a partial license plate number of “7MB.” It also has damage to the windshield and hood, police said.

Anyone with possible information on the deadly collision should contact police at 911 immediately.

A GoFundMe has been set up by family members with funeral expenses.
