OK Nursing Home Fight Between Patients Leaves 69-Year-Old OK City Woman Dead

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK. (THECOUNT) — Carolyn Irene Rutledge has been identified as the Grace Living Centers patient killed following an altercation with another patient.

Rutledge, 69, died days after being involved in a fight with another patient while residing at the Oklahoma City nursing facility, officials with the Oklahoma City Police Department said on Wednesday.

According to authorities, Rutledge was in the process of being assaulted by a fellow patient, when she fell and struck her head around 1 p.m. Saturday.

Police arrived to the hospice, located at, 3233 Northwest 10th Street, on calls of a disturbance. Upon arrival, police located a female victim suffering from a head wound.

Rutledge was transported to an area hospital where she passed away tuesday as a result of blunt force injuries suffered in the fall.

KOCO identified the facility as, “Fairmont Skilled Nursing Center,” which is located on Oklahoma Ave.

Police said no arrests have been made at this time, KOCO.

The case will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office after police complete their investigation, officials said.
