Lexington, SC. (THECOUNT) — Dianne Sullivan Wells, of Lexington, SC, has been identified as the pedestrian struck and killed while attempting to cross Augusta Highway (US-1) early Tuesday morning.
Wells, 36, was on foot crossing Augusta Highway around 5:10 a.m. when she was struck near Charter Oak Road on Tuesday morning.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with police. That individual was not injured during the collision and stopped at the scene to render aid, according to authorities.
Wells was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
