MADISON, WI. (THECOUNT) — The Diocese of Madison has confirmed the death of Robert C. Morlino, the Bishop of Madison.
Morlino, 71, passed away Saturday, Nov. 24th at 9:15 p.m. at St. Mary’s Hospital, at the age of 71, the Diocese said.
Morlino’s death comes after he was hospitalized following a “cardiac event” the day before Thanksgiving.
The all night prayer vigil for held Morlino, at Holy Name Heights, will continue on and end Sunday, Nov. 25th at 8:00 a.m.
As of Saturday, funeral plans are pending.
The Diocese of Madison was asking for prayers after Bishop Robert Morlino was hospitalized from “cardiac event” the day before Thanksgiving.
“Unfortunately, matters have continued to turn for the worst and it is likely that our hope lays in a miracle at this point,” spokesman Brent King said in a post on the Diocese of Madison facebook page. source
