CARLTON TOWNSHIP, MS. (THECOUNT) — Jeremiah Williams has been identified as the Greenville High School student fatally injured following a tragic tackle during a Carlton Township football game Friday.
Williams was named as the young man who was removed from life support and died in the hospital after breaking two vertebrae in his neck during a hard tackle Friday, Nov, 2, in Greenville.
The Greenville High School football Hornets DB was injured when he tried to make a tackle during a game on Nov. 2. reported. Williams, who played defensive back, broke the C1 and C4 vertebrae, WJTV reported.
“When he got hit and went down I just thought he was automatically going to get back up,” classmate Erick Simmons told WJTV. “Because of the type of player he is. He’s just so tough.” source
