BOXFORD, MA. (THECOUNT) — Burlington woman, Barbara O’Connell, has been identified as the victim killed in a head-on crash on Interstate 95 in Boxford Friday night.
O’Connell, 55, of Burlington, was operating a Toyota Sienna on I-95 in Boxford when a Honda Ridgeline pickup truck crossed centerlines and struck her head-on around 10:15 p.m. Friday, State Police said.
A 35-year-old man driving a Honda crossed the center median for unknown reasons, and crashed into the victim’s Toyota, according to authorities.
O’Connell was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the violent crash.
State Police said the driver of the Honda pickup was transported in serious condition to an area hospital and then flown by LifeFlight to a Boston-area hospital for treatment. source
The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed at this time, State Police said.
