LAWRENCE COUNTY, AL. (THECOUNT) — Wymon Leonard Hampton and John Willie Mays, have been identified as the two men found dead in a Lawrence County home Friday night, according to police.
Police have identified Hampton, 59, and Mays, also 59, as the two men found dead inside a home in North Courtland, in Lawrence County, AL, near the North Courtland Fire Department.
Authorities say that an investigation concluded the victims had been using a generator for heat and power purposes in an unventilated area.
Officers with the North Courtland Police Department responded to a call of an unresponsive person inside a home on Johnson Lane Friday night. After responding, they found 59-year-old Wymon Leonard Hampton and 59-year-old John Willie Mays dead. source
The victims are believed to have died in their sleep from carbon monoxide poisoning, however, authorities are still working to list an official cause of death.
