SPRING, TX. (THECOUNT) — Police in Spring, Texas, are attempting to track down a woman after she was caught on a Ring Doorbell frantically abandoning a 2-year-old boy in front of a stranger’s home.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office posted a video of the incident, which took place around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in Spring, and eerily resembles a similar incident last month, where a shackled woman was also caught on camera.
Officers became aware of the situation when a woman called 911 and explained that she found a 2-year-old boy alone at her front door after hearing a knock.
Deputies were shown surveillance video that depicted a woman arriving at the home in a white car. She could be seen running toward the front door of the home while lifting the child in the air by one arm.
“Once the suspect arrives at the front door she rings the doorbell, knocks on the door and then flees back to her vehicle abandoning the 2 year child and two bags she was carrying. The entire incident lasted 23 seconds,” deputies wrote on Facebook. source
The child is in good health and currently with child protective service, which is working to identify his family.
The woman in the video appears to be in her mid-20s to early 30s with long hair reaching below her waist. She has multiple tattoos on her right arm that can be seen in the video.
If anyone has any information regarding the child or female suspect, please contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office 936-760-5800 or contact Multi-County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-392-STOP (7867).
