PHOENIX, AZ. (THECOUNT) — Nefertiti Ford and Mark Lopez, have been identified as the Wednesday night Phoenix shooting victims.
Ford, 30, was transported with gunshot wounds and is expected to survive. Lopez, 26, was also transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Family members reportedly gathered outside the Alta Vista Village, located at, 4540 N 39th Ave, in Phoenix, AZ, when an altercation turned deadly.
When police arrived, they located two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
Ford was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive her injuries. Police identified her as 30-year-old Nefartiti Ford. The man, later identified as 26-year-old Mark Lopez, was located at the scene of the shooting. source
Authorities say one of the suspects, a 27-year-old man, is in custody. One other suspect remains outstanding.
The shooting suspect is described as a black male in his mid 20’s. He is 5-foot-10-inches to 6-foot tall with black hair and white shorts.
Police are currently conducting interviews with the suspect and surviving victim to gather more information regarding the shooting.
