ST. LOUIS, MO. (THECOUNT) — Hillary Thornton, the St. Louis, MO, woman who lost her job after a video circulated online showing her refusing to let a black tenant inside the building, is speaking out to members of the local press.
Thornton said D’Arreion Toles didn’t have a key fob to get inside and forced his way in the apartment building. She reached out to share her side of the story after being called a racist and receiving death threats on social media.
“When I noticed an individual that I did not know here, my only thought was to follow directions I had been given by condo association board members repeatedly; and that’s to never allow access to anyone that you don’t know,” she said. source
Thornton had several emails from the condo association telling residents what to do if they were faced with a situation like this.
Thornton said Toles was trying to get into the building as she had the door cracked as her dog went to the bathroom.

Her laziness caused this problem. Go outside with your dog and close the door behind you. Then anyone trying to enter must use their key fob. Instead she let the dog out and stayed in, leaving the door cracked. So any resident coming up to the door had to go by her. You cannot know everyone in your building or community, so you need to stop singling out individuals for scrutiny based on looks. Don't open for the door for anyone- even for someone you know. What if they have been kicked out of the building or have a restraining order against them and you let them in because you recognize them. You are just as responsible for whatever they do. Stop being a lazy butt and go outside with your rat dog or to take a smoke and then wait until it is clear to go back in. Leave the entry screening to the electronic locks, that's why they are there in the first place.
I hope to hell she gets a lawyer and sues the man whom forced his way through the entry door and sues her jerk of an employer. I'll be following this story hoping justice is done. All the man had to do was show some courtesy and assure Hillary that he is indeed a resident so as to put her mind at ease. She didn't want to be responsible if he happened to be a bad guy up to no good. She was doing what she was supposed to do. This 'man' was more interested in crying racism and being a victim. Total BS. I hope she sues the #$@% out of them. I'm sick to death of this racism crap.
If he didn't have a key fob how did he get in his house? She is full of it. There is VIDEO!!!! And you don't allow people to access the building IF they don't have a key. You don't block them from using their key. She didn't need to say anything to him. All she had to do was let the door lock. She is not the police. I'll bet anyone one million dollars that if she pulled the door shut and let it latch he would be offended because she in effect locked him out forcing him to use his key with her standing right there watching. RACISM RACISM it never stops

Read the article. Her dog was taking a bathroom break with her standing at the entry door with door ajar. He came along and opened the door so he could go up to his apartment. Since the door was not latched and he didn't need his key she simply asked about the keyfob ID since she was responsible for keeping her building safe as are all the tenants including him. All he had to do was say' oh sure young lady ,there it is right there on my key chain, feel better' ? and then she would say ThankYou, nice evening isn't it? I don't think we have met.' But noooo, RACISM she did RACISM !
