MEMPHIS, TN. (THECOUNT) — Wesley Johnson has been identified as the victim fatally stabbed in an incident that occurred in the 5300 block of Twisted Ridge Cover, in Memphis, TN, Friday.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the stabbing that left Johnson, 56, dead at the scene.
Decrease Beverly, 49, was later identified as the suspect in the fatal stabbing.
Deputies responded to the scene in 5300 block of Twisting Ridge on Friday afternoon. The intersection of Twisting Ridge & Valley Oak was blocked off for a few hours. The sheriff’s office originally stated that they were investigating a “suspicious death.” On Saturday morning, the sheriff’s office stated that a 56-year-old man was found stabbed to death in his home. source
The sheriff’s office later identified the victim as Johnson.
Beverly reportedly confessed to stabbing Wesley following an argument, according to investigators.
Authorities in Pine Bluff took Beverly into custody. Beverly will be extradited to Shelby County, where she will be charged with second degree murder.
