AMES, IA. (THECOUNT) — The body of standout ISU golfer, Celia Barquin Arozamena, was discovered at Coldwater Golf Links, located at, South Grand Avenue in Ames, Iowa, around 10:30 a.m. Monday.
Arozamena, 22, a golfer with Iowa State University, was found murdered at the links after a person noticed her golf bag standing alone on the course during a welfare check.
Collin Daniel Richards, 22, was taken in custody and later named as her accused killer.
Richards is being charged with Murder in the First degree, a Class “A” Felony. A motive in the killing was not immediately provided.

Arozamena was reportedly golfing Monday morning when a course worker observed her belongings with no one around them.
Officers found her body some distance away.
Arozamena is listed as being originally from Puente San Miguel, Spain.
