HIGH POINT, NC. (THECOUNT) — Jamys E. Leak, of High Point, has been identified as the victim of a fatal Friday Spencer Street stabbing. Michael K. Pickenpack, 44, also of High Point, was arrested and is expected to be charged in the brutal murder.
Leak, 37, was found suffering from stab wounds Friday at approximately 5:24 p.m. after High Point Police were dispatched to a residence located at 232 Spencer Street, High Point, NC.
As officers looked through one of the exterior windows to the residence they observed blood on the floor and at that time forced entry into the residence and discovered a 37-year-old female, identified as Jamys E. Leak, suffering from stab wounds.

Leak was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers later located Pickenpack of High Point suffering from deep cuts to the neck area.
Pickenpack was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem with life-threatening injuries.
The preliminary investigation showed that Pickenpack stabbed and killed Leak and then attempted to commit suicide himself.
Pickenpack will remain in the custody of the High Point Police Department while he receives medical treatment for his injuries, he is currently listed in critical but stable condition.
Upon release from the hospital, he will be charged with the murder of Leak, authorities said.
