COLUMBUS, OH. (THECOUNT) — Michael B. Blankenship has been identified by police as the man they found killed early Monday in east Columbus.
Blankenship, 29, was found by neighborhood police patrolling an alley near the 900 block of Geers Avenue at 12:33 a.m. Monday, police say. Police believe he was murdered.
Blankenship was found with an apparent gunshot wound and appeared lifeless. He was pronounced dead at 12:47 a.m. The investigation led to a shooting scene in the 1500 block of East Livingston Avenue near Denton Alley, a few blocks away. source
Neighbors in the area said they heard gunfire around midnight, but no one called police. Currently, there is no motive for the shooting and no suspects, according to police.
