MARLBORO COUNTY, SC. (THECOUNT) — Richard Jacobs Jr., has been identified as the pedestrian killed Sunday morning after being struck by a train.
According to the Marlboro County Coroner, Jacobs, 28, was hit by the oncoming train on Step Road and Highway 177. The incident happened in the Wallace Community of Marlboro County.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is unclear why Jacobs was on the tracks at the time of the fatal incident.
