LANCASTER, PA. (THECOUNT) — The Lancaster County Coroner has identified Laura Olweiler, of Elizabethtown, as the body found in the Conewago Creek last night.
Olweiler, 19, was recovered in the creek around 7:45 pm Thursday less than a mile downstream of where she was reported missing.
Olweiler went missing on Monday night when she and a relative tried to walk across the Conewago Creek and were swept away by flood waters. A 22-year-old relative was able to grab a log and was rescued. source
The body was discovered by a civilian according to Trooper Megan Frazer with Pennsylvania State Police.
The cause of death has been ruled accidental drowning.
