Columbia, SC. (THECOUNT) — Aaron Matthew Peterson has been identified as the Columbia man shot and killed near Sandspur Road & Pelion Park road in Pelion, SC.
Peterson, 38, died after being shot several times in the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A person of interest has been located in the shooting near Pelion that has left one person dead and two injured, one seriously, according to Lexington County deputies after a shooting Monday evening. The shooting occurred in the 300 block of Sandspur Road near Pelion Park road just after 5:30 pm, investigators say. source
Deputies say they believe that the deadly shooting was an isolated incident.
Two others were taken to the hospital. One is in serious condition, while the other had non-life-threatening injuries.
Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to contact police at 911.
