HUNTINGTON, MA. (THECOUNT –Montgomery woman, Melinda Carriveau, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Huntington, MA, single-vehicle crash Wednesday night.
According to a release from the Massachusetts State Police, Carriveau, 39, was traveling as a passenger in a Ford pickup truck on MA 112 when the male driver exited the roadway for an unknown reason. The vehicle then jumped a guardrail before coming to a rest in the woods.
Carriveau was ejected from the vehicle during the crash, according to the release.
She was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead as a result of blunt force trauma injuries.
The vehicle, a 2000 Ford F250 pickup, was being driven by a 42-year-old Montgomery man southbound on Route 112 when — for reasons under investigation — he reportedly drove “off the north side of the roadway, over a guardrail and into the woods,” police said. source
The male driver, who was not named, was extricated from the vehicle using the Jaws Of Life tool and transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
