WINDSOR MILL, MD. (THECOUNT) — Mariam Idowu Adeleke has been identified as the Maryland woman killed after being struck by a hit-and-run vehicle while walking in Windsor Mill.
Authorities say they are searching for the driver of the vehicle that struck and killed Adeleke, 24, as she walked near Security Boulevard and Lord Baltimore Drive.
Adeleke was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Police determined that a car was traveling westbound on Security Boulevard and struck the pedestrian as she was trying to cross the road. Another collision happened when the victim was thrown into the direction of a 2005 Acura MDX, which was also traveling westbound on Security Boulevard, police said. source
While the driver of the car in the first accident did not remain at the scene of the collision, the driver involved in the second crash did, police said.
The car that fled the scene is only described as a dark-colored sedan, police said.
