HARLAN, IN. (THECOUNT — New Haven woman, Juliet Anne Taylor Schnebelt, has been identified the victim of a single-vehicle crash in Harlan as a New Haven woman, reports the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
“Taylor” Schnebelt, 27, died in the crash at 9:55 p.m. Friday in the 11000 Cuba Road in Harlan, IN, according to the coroner’s office.
Witnesses said they observed an SUV traveling southbound on Indiana 37 when it exited the roadway for an unknown reason. The vehicle then struck a tree before coming to a rest.
The SUV erupted in flames just after a male driver was pulled from the vehicle.
Schnebelt was unable to exit the vehicle and suffered multiple blunt-force injuries.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Schnebelt, a passenger of the white SUV, that crashed into a tree and was fully engulfed in flames when officers arrived, according to Cpl. Adam Griffith, sheriff department spokesman. source
The unidentified male driver was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
The incident remains under investigation.
