ANDREWS COUNTY, TX. (THECOUNT) — Omar Padilla-Arrieta has been identified as the Odessa teenager killed in an Andrews crash Wednesday morning.
Padilla-Arrieta, 19, was traveling on Texas 115 in Andrews, TX., at 6:31 a.m. when the fiery crash occurred.
DPS says the the accident involved two vehicles, a 2006 Chevrolet, Malibu and a 1997, Freight-liner, truck tractor, towing a semi trailer. According to DPS, the Chevrolet Malibu entered the southbound lane of South Highway 115 and collided with the Freight-liner truck tractor. source
Odessa was driving the Chevrolet Malibu.
He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the Freight-liner, 37-year-old Joan M. Rodriguez of Miami, Florida was not injured.
DPS noted in a report that Padilla-Arrieta was not wearing a seat-belt at the time of the accident.
