SMITH COUNTY, TX (THECOUNT) — The following is a press release from the Smith County Sheriff’s Office:
On June 14, 2018, at approximately 6:14 pm, Smith County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Hwy 31 West towards Loop 49 in reference to an Agency Assist. Smith County Communications was advised that the Tyler Police Department had been in pursuit with a black motorcycle heading west on Hwy 31 West. The motorcycle was operated by an unknown male suspect with a female passenger.

The deputy observed the motorcycle accelerate and continue at a high rate of speed north bound on Loop 49.
The suspect continued to pass several vehicles in an unsafe manner in an attempt to flee from law enforcement. Precinct 5 Constables were able to get in front of the pursuit in an attempt to stop the vehicle. The suspect then slowed and changed directions to head south on Loop 49. The pursuit continued as the suspect exited and proceeded west on Hwy 31.
As the suspect approached FM 2661 the suspect encountered traffic. As he attempted to slow down, the suspect lost control of the motorcycle and both occupants were ejected. The male suspect who was identified as Sean Waite W/M 34, then fled on foot and was arrested a short time later. source
The female passenger who was identified as Alicia Ann Adams W/F 28, suffered severe injuries as a result of being ejected.
