WARREN, MI (THECOUNT) – A knife-wielding Michigan man that wore a blue flower print dress and a shower cap during a wild crime spree in the Warren area, has been arrested, police say.
Police received a call reporting a home invasion and sexual assault near E. 9 Mile Rd., & Ryan Rd., in Warren.
Upon arrival, witnesses told police a man wearing a blue flower print dress and a shower cap while wielding a knife entered the rear window of a Warren residence and sexually assaulted a young woman around 7 a.m. Thursday.
“He attempted to assault my little cousin,” Jonathan Turk said. “At some point, her mother came back into the house and the guy chased her out and eventually made it away from here.” source
The man then exited the home and traveled on foot to an area park where he raised his dress and made lewd comments while exposing himself to a grandmother who was visiting the park with her grandchildren. He then propositioned the elderly woman for sex.
The quick thinking Grandmother began to scream and the man ran off.
The suspect then fled the scene and tried to assault a third woman before police tracked him down several blocks away from the initial incident.
The incident prompted lockdowns at five area schools: Chatterton Middle School, Great Oaks Academy, Fitzgerald High School, Mound Park Elementary School and Schofield Elementary School.
“I’m just glad he’s off the streets,” Turk said.
The young victim was taken to the hospital for evaluation. Officials have not provided an update on her condition.
The man is expected in court Friday.
