South Los Angeles 3-Year-Old Girl Dead After DUI Driver Crashes Into Vermont Knolls Yard

A California three-year-old girl is dead after being struck and killed by a vehicle driven by a possible DUI driver in the Vermont Knolls neighborhood of South Los Angeles, police said.

The child was struck just after 6 p.m., near South Figueroa & W. 92nd streets after a suspected drunk driver exited the roadway and crashed in the front yard where the young girl was playing.

Police said the girl was playing in her yard when a car ran off the road and struck her. She was brought to a local hospital and later pronounced dead. source

Police have the driver in custody and say the incident may have been a DUI.
