Odessa TX Man Jerome Nelson Arrested Murder Of Wife Rochel Zuniga

Jerome Nelson has been named as the Odessa, TX., man arrested after his wife, 28-year-old Rochel Zuniga, was found dead, reports Odessa Police.

Nelson, 27, was taken in custody Thursday around 2:20 am., after officers observed a deceased woman while responding to reports of shots fired at 9100 Andrews Highway.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with a man identified as Nelson.

Investigation revealed that after both subjects got into a confrontation, and Nelson shot Zuniga with a revolver. Nelson states that he passed out and woke up some time later. He added that a period of time went by which he contemplated what to do before calling law enforcement. source

Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, OPD detectives obtained a warrant for Nelson, who was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the ECLEC.
