Krystle Cupp has been named as the Evansville woman arrested for “Hit and Run Causing Death” as well as “False Informing.”
Detectives received a tip on Friday, which led them to Cupp, 31, being questioned by police.
Cupp initially denied being the driver of the vehicle that struck and killed Mark Slaughter, 43, but she did eventually confess to being the driver.
“If they determine that that person died from injuries sustained when they were struck by the car then you’re looking at a higher level charge than maybe if that person had suffered some type of medical distress and was possibly already deceased or had some type of condition that wasn’t going to be survivable regardless of the crash, but we’re going to have to wait to get that information so we can make the appropriate decision,” says Sgt. Jason Cullum with the Evansville Police Department. source
At the time, a witness said he saw a black newer model Cadillac SUV.
