Three adults were shot and killed while traveling on a private charter bus early Saturday morning in Rockford, IL.
The shooter, who was also traveling aboard the bus, fled the scene and remains at large, Rockford police said.
The bus driver called 911 around 3:30 a.m. after traveling from the scene of the shooting near Auburn Street and Johnston Avenue, to the 400 block of North Springfield Avenue, where they met with police, officials said.
The victims have not been identified and ID is pending investigation by the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office and family notification.source
“Obviously there’s an individual out there who has killed three people and we need to apprehend… (that) individual,” Rockford police Chief Dan O’Shea said.
Authorities did not provide a description of the shooter.
