Fort Walton Beach Police Department say they responded to a call at 646 Country Club Drive over a male victim who had been shot.
The victim, identified as 29-year-old Angel Ramon Lopez, was transported to the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center for treatment for a gunshot wound to his leg and subsequently released a short time later.
The investigation revealed that Mr. Lopez’s step-father, Thomas Calvin Long, aka “Tommy Long,” 49 years of age, shot Mr. Lopez during an isolated domestic dispute inside the home. Mr. Long was arrested for Aggravated Battery with a firearm and later delivered to the Okaloosa County Jail.
According to Facebook, Long is a decorated Artillery Officer at the U.S Army. Former Soldado at Enlisted Field Artillery Branch.
