Ron Cisco has been named as the Colorado Springs man killed in a crash that occurred during a high-speed police chase.
Cisco, 43, was killed after he crashed while taking a curve at more than 100 mph trying to evade police.
Cisco was partially thrown from the vehicle as the car rolled off the roadway before the deputy’s eyes. What was left of the mangled car in the aftermath of the rollover was enough to prompt a responding officer to call it one of the worst crashes he’d ever seen. source
A short chase followed, fatally cut short when the suspect driver tried to turn on North Powers Boulevard from Woodmen.
“The pursuit speeds were extremely high, and that’s a significant curve to take at that speed,” Kirby said.
Authorities say Cisco collided with a light pole with enough force to break off a chunk of the vehicle. The car then went airborne and rolled several times.
