Arizona Police say a burned body found in the west Valley has been “tentatively identified” as Jasmine Dunbar.
Dunbar, a 21-year-old mother, was reported missing this week along with her baby girl. They were last seen with her ex-boyfriend, Antwaun Ware, police said.
Ware was booked into Maricopa County Jail after Dunbar’s body was discovered near 107th Avenue and Camelback Road, was significantly burned, police said.
According to Phoenix police, Dunbar and her baby girl were last seen leaving a home in the area of 51st Avenue and Thomas Road Tuesday night around 9 p.m. Dunbar’s baby was found abandoned Tuesday night in a car seat positioned along the roadway about six miles away from where they were last seen together, police said. Police said Ware cooperated with police and agreed to an interview while the search for Dunbar continued early in the morning on March 7. source
Based on evidence gathered during the investigation, police said detectives had probable cause to arrest Ware for first-degree murder, abandonment of a body and child abuse.
