Andrew Day has been named as the Hampton Inn employee killed in a shooting at Dayton/Fairborn hotel located at 2550 Paramount Place, Fairborn, OH.
A 911 call informed police of the fatal shooting of Day, 29, at the Hampton Inn hotel. He was later located dead behind the front counter.
“I think I heard gunshots,” the caller told police. “We just walked in the door…somebody shot the guy behind the counter.” The caller told dispatchers he was applying pressure to the victim’s wound while emergency crews responded to the scene. source
The caller also told police he believed the suspects may have fled as he was pulling into the hotel parking lot.
Afterward two males were seen leaving in a vehicle, possibly in a red Chevrolet Equinox, in the parking lot of a nearby hotel, according to unconfirmed reports.
Our thoughts are with the family and friends at this difficult time.
