Northeast Arkansas Authorities say a suitcase containing the bodies of two newborn babies was located in a ditch bank along a Cross County road.
The Cross County sheriff’s office say they are investigating the grim discovery after twin infants were found deceased in a purple suitcase Friday afternoon.
The infants appear to be twins, Detective Sergeant Jeffrey Nichols told reporters.
Nichols said they are trying to figure out who left the babies on side of the road and that his office has identified several persons of interest. No further information was given. source
The sheriff’s office said the bodies are being sent to the state crime lab for autopsies, which should help investigators determine how the infants died and when.
Anyone with information on the identity of the infants is urged to contact the Cross County sheriff’s office.
