Spartanburg School Bus Crashes Injuries Reported

A Spartanburg District 7 School bus has crashed while transporting students to the Whitlock Flexible Learning Center in South Carolina.

Reports said seven students were injured in the crash and transported to Spartanburg County area hospitals.

According to the SCHP website, the crash happened just after 8 a.m. on Chesnee Highway near Oaktree Road. Sally Hammond, a spokesperson for District 7, said a school bus and a van were involved in the crash. 16 students were on board at the time, headed for Whitlock Flexible Learning Center. source

Seven of those students were taken to the hospital as a precaution and the other nine were taken to school.

Hammond said first responders were working to free the driver of the van.

The bus driver was not hurt.
