A 23-year-old man wearing a bulletproof vest opened fire on a pair of patrons dining Saturday night at Wats Crackin Garlic Crabs in Atlanta, GA.
Travis Allen, 42, has been charged with malice murder, police said. The name of the victim has not been released.
The man was killed and two others were hurt after an argument inside a DeKalb County seafood restaurant turned into a shootout in the parking lot, police said. The shooting happened about 9:30 p.m. Saturday at Wats Crackin Garlic Crabs at 368 Candler Road, DeKalb County police spokeswoman Shiera Campbell said. Police have not said why that man was wearing a vest, but they believe he started the fight.
“The person who is dead is the man who followed the other man into the parking lot,” Campbell said. source
A bystander was also injured in the shooting, but those injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, Campbell said.
A shooting incident caused “Dekalb County” to trend on Twitter Sunday morning.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victim’s family and friends at this difficult time.
