Luc Robitaille, LA Kings Remember Legendary Broadcaster Dave Strader

Luc Robitaille and members of the LA Kings sent out condolences over the passing of legendary broadcaster Dave Strader.

Strader died after battling cholangiocarcinoma for over a year.

“Dave was a consummate professional who had an incredible passion for his job and our game.” said LA Kings President Luc Robitaille. “Like hockey fans all throughout North America we will miss his on-air talent but we will especially miss his kindness beyond the broadcast booth. He was a man of tremendous character who bravely fought cancer for over a year. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones”

“Dave was a great member of our broadcasting fraternity and a better person . He will be missed. My condolences to his family . God bless him.” – Daryl Evans

“Dave loved hockey, he loved broadcasting, he loved the competition, he loved people. And everyone loved him right back! We will miss him dearly.” Jim Fox

“This is devastating news for the hockey world, especially for its broadcasters. Dave was a role model on air. Watching him at the peak of his craft was a joy for anyone who loves this sport. Equally as important, Dave was a role model in life, displaying unfathomable courage in his battle with cancer over the last year. His return to Dallas last February was nothing short of inspirational, showing you why he is universally admired in hockey and in the broadcasting world at large. We’re all going to miss him dearly.” – Alex Faust source

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends at this difficult time.
