Edward Piechowiak Jr. of Maple Heights, Ohio, was arrested in connection with the murder of 32-year-old Kevin Tiearney, in Cuyahoga Falls. Piechowiak is the maternal grandfather of Tiearney’s daughter.
Piechowiak, 65, was taken into custody Thursday on charges of aggravated murder and tampering with evidence. Other charges may be filed. A motive for the crime has not yet been revealed.
According to police, Tiearney was found unresponsive at the apartment building at 4260 Americana Drive on Aug. 2 after police received reports of possible gunshots.source
A weapon was recovered. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
According to police, Piechowiak is the maternal grandfather of Tiearney’s daughter. He is currently being held in the Summit County Jail.
Piechowiak remains in jail.
