The Chenango County District Attorney’s Office says, James Brower, from the Town of Norwich, NY., has been charged in the murder of 11-year old girl, Jacelyn O’Connor.
Brower, 36, was arrested and charged with murder Tuesday night in the death of O’Connor, of Morris. His relationship to the girl has not yet been divulged.
State police say they responded to Brower’s home at 961 County Route 33 Sunday night after receiving a report that O’Connor was in cardiac arrest. Troopers say O’Connor was dead when they arrived. On Tuesday, New York State Police said her death had been ruled a homicide. Brower was arraigned before Chenango County Court Judge Frank Revoir and sent to the Chenango County Jail without bail pending further court proceedings. His next scheduled court appearance is in the Town of Norwich Court on Thursday, August 3 at 9 a.m. source
Morris Central School posted a statement on its Facebook page saying there will be a vigil for O’Connor Monday at 7 p.m. It will be held at the school’s old front entrance.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends at this difficult time.
