Teen Who Drown in Lawrence County Laurel Hill Wildlife Management Area Identified

Tate Davis has been identified as the young man officials officials say drown in the Laurel Hill Wildlife Management Area in Lawrence County.

A Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency spokesman confirmed that Davis, 16, drown in an incident on the Little Buffalo River near Laurel Hill Lake Road.

Officials said he was swimming with friends at a fishing hole. He went under at some point. When it took him too long to come back up, friends began looking for him and located him downstream.

Tate Davis attended Lawrence County High School.

TheCount.com obtained photos of the young man on his Facebook page that were captured several years ago.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends at this difficult time.
