Saugata Ghosh, the victim who nearly drown before being rescued Sunday evening near Lake Travis marina has died at a local hospital, according to the Travis County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office identified Ghosh, 34, as the victim. He was with friends swimming near a party boat when he started to struggle in the water.
Austin-Travis County EMS says Ghosh was pulled from the water onto a pontoon boat by a passerby. Medics intercepted the boat at Emerald Point Marina and transported Ghosh to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at approximately 5:30 p.m., the sheriff’s office says. source
Ghosh’s cause and manner of death has not yet been officially determined by the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office.
