A rumor is swirling in D.C. and beyond that Liberal U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy will announce his retirement on Monday, June 26.
Chronologically, and by that we mean, sooner than later, Justice Kennedy, 80, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, 84, will need to retire their esteemed positions on the Supreme Court, but sources say the pressure has been on now for over a month for an official announcement from one or both of the supreme law makers.
In May, author/political consultant Roger Stone predicted Justice Kennedy will retire soon paving the way for President Donald Trump to appoint his second SCOTUS judge.
The President’s first SCOTUS appointment, Neil Gorsuch, assumed his role on the bench in April.
Judge Kennedy was appointed by Ronald Reagan in 1987, while Ginsburg was appointed by Bill Clinton in 1993.
