Huntington Police have issued an arrest warrant for 34-year-old Zaire Monroe-Shareef, the man wanted in connection the beating death of Lisa Washburn. He has been charged with murder in the death.
Washburn, 39, pictured here exclusively on THECOUNT.COM, was arrested in 2016 in her hometown of South Point, Ohio. Records show Washburn was taken into custody last year over a “commitment order” which is not a charge. It is an order from the judge issued to put a person in custody.
Police say Washburn was found severely beaten early Thursday morning on the front porch of a home in the 500 block of West 10th Avenue. She died from her injuries.
According to HPD, Monroe-Shareef lives in the 600 block of West 10th Avenue which is were detectives believe the altercation between the two began.
Police say the two know each other.
According to a release, police believe Monroe-Shareef was under the influence of a controlled substance at the time of the beating.
