Arlington, TX., teen, Brennan Fields, is mourning the death of his girlfriend, Lucinda Luna, after accidentally shooting and killing her with a gun he had just received as a graduation gift, according to Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.
Police say Fields, 18, received a gun as a gift for his senior graduation. He was playing with the gun when it accidentally fired, striking his 19-year-old girlfriend, Luna, in the stomach. Luna’s father tragically gave Fields the gun.
Luna was rushed to an area hospital where she died from her injuries.
Investigators deemed the shooting an accident.
Fields is not expected to face any charges.
“By all indications, there was no intent for this to happen,” SCSO spokesperson Earle Farrell said. h/t

Negligent Homicide is a chargeable offense; so is Risking A Catastrophe.
The girl's father was also remiss in that he didn't ensure that the dumbass kid was properly trained in gun safety and operation. He could also be charged with something that would hammer him for being stupid.
Everything has to be a crime in America, right?
