Paul M. Wilkins, of Citrus River, FL., is accused of driving drunk after crashing his vehicle into the sheriff’s brand new “Don’t Drink and Drive” cruiser, sending it nearly 30 feet.
Wilkins, 63, drove through a traffic checkpoint at US-19 and Citrus Avenue at around 10 p.m. Saturday night during Pirate Fest.
Wilkins was wearing a t-shirt that read “I’m Currently Unsupervised, I Know, It Freaks Me Out Too, But The Possibilities Are Endless” at the time of his arrest.
Wilkins later claimed that he didn’t see the police vehicles – although the blue police lights on both vehicles were flashing.
No one was reported injured.
Wilkins was sent to the Citrus County Detention Facility in the back of the newly unveiled and now damaged “a cop or a cab, you decide” vehicle.
